Injection-based ovulation cycles (without IVF)
Some couples are given hormone injections to help the ovaries release one or a few eggs, followed by timed intercourse or IUI. This is not IVF, but it needs close scan checks because it can cause twins or triplets and, rarely, OHSS. If the ovaries respond too strongly, doctors may cancel the cycle to keep you safe, and that is a safety decision, not a failure.
